Hola Kattia and Russell:

We wanted to take the time from our Costa Rican adventure to acknowledge the great experience we had using Autos Fijatevos’ PASS program. We arrived in San Jose mid afternoon on Monday. Tuesday morning at the appointed hour (those who live in Costa Rica know why we say that!) Kattia picked us up at our hotel. We had e-mailed Russell and already discussed what we were looking for. Kattia took us to two dealers, and the second car we looked at was the one we chose, a 2001 Hyundai Terracan at Autos Erik. Kattia was exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough and helpful in checking out all aspects of the cars, and on our selected one pointed out several things which should be repaired and touched up., and tires that should be replaced. She also made sure that all the necessary paperwork was completed, and put us in touch with an insurance agent who actually came to our hotel to make the arrangements. It remained for us to transfer money from our bank in Canada, no small task as anyone who has tried it will attest. On Friday morning Kattia picked us up to collect our car, which was spotless.

All that remained was for the stickers to be sent to us here in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca as soon as they were available. A few days later Russell advised that they were ready to be picked up at the bus station. To our frustration, the bus station advised that there was nothing for us, and when we informed Russell he immediately jumped to our rescue and sorted everything out. Twenty-four hours later we had the stickers.

What service! We were truly impressed, and eternally grateful for their intervention and assistance, as we speak limited Spanish. They not only found us exactly the right vehicle for our purposes, but went above and beyond in making sure that all aspects of the transaction were completed. We would highly recommend their service to anyone looking to buy a car in Costa Rica – fast, efficient and thorough.

One final point: upon our arrival here, our neighbours and their friends, who have lived here permanently for some time, were absolutely convinced that our car was brand new. Even looking under the hood the car was spotless. We had to show them the paperwork before they would believe that the car was actually a 2001 model.
